The God of this age has nothing in me

The body of Christ is patterned after the Israel of the Old Covenant. (1 Corinthians 10.1-4) When the Israelites set up camp, it was set up with the village, tents, tabernacle and Holy of Holies. An aerial view of this set up shows it was laid out like a human body on the ground with legs, arms, torso and a head. The Tabernacle was the head and the Holy of Holies was the mind.

There were a series of barriers protecting the body first, meaning the people. Next was the camp of the meeting, and then the tabernacle for those purified for service. The Chief High Priest was the only person allowing into the Holiest and only on rare occasions.

Camp was all laid out for us to understand some things about our community and personal sanctification. Under the New Covenant our human bodies are the temples of the living God. The God of this age comes, meaning we have sifted through all the debris of body and spirit to be suitable for us to be “a habitation of God in the spirit.

Just as the Israelites had protocol for any foreign bodies to enter the camp, so too we protect and guard our mouth, mind, ears and nose to retain our God given personal sovereignty. We cannot control the things outside so much for that has been given to another. We can however discern and regulate all things by “the unction of the Holy Spirit”. And this we must do. We are responsible for what happens inside ourselves because of the harm it may produce.
This is why we are called to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God. And to “come out from among them and be he separate and I will recieve you, says the Lord. And “be ye holy as I am Holy.
1 Corinthians 6.19+ says “do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God?
To sanctify is to have a clean body. The holiest part called Our inner sanctuary is the mind, which is the reason for the mandate to “be renewed in the spirit of your mind”. The place to interface with the living God.
