Nicodemus came to Jesus at night and asked Him “what is truth?” Jesus went on to tell him “if we tell you earthly, physical things and you do not understand, how can we tell you heavenly?
Jesus Christ had explained to the woman at the well in Samaria that “the that is coming now is when you shall not worship the Father on this mountain or earthen Jerusalem. But you shall worship the Father in spirit and truth. What then is truth?
You see this is our starting point to truth. Truth is not a place, an event or a series of facts but it is a person. Jesus clarified this to the disciples saying “I am the truth”. So it is Him we must ascertain through knowledge. As we adopt the mind of Christ by receiving in our hearts the word of God. That “he who keeps my word, the Father and I will come to him and make our home in Him. This is us. The children of God containing the essence of God. His elements of non-structural spirit and truth that permeates all things.
So there are some things we can ascertain about truth. We use earthly, visible concepts to describe invisible to the naked eye eternal, ubiquitous realities. And it is not realities as in being plural. It is the collection of physical realities that defines the one truth as it is found “in Christ”. When it is all said and done and it’s over all that is left is God. And if we in our time here re-assemble Him in ourselves, He is what we get. “He comes and His reward is with Him” because it is Him. God is one, and “with His dead body we rise”. We grow up into Him who is the head. His body is our body. We are members of His body being the invisible attributes He gave us to put on. This is “putting on Christ” one attribute at a time until we, as Job said “awake in His likeness”. This is the call of Isaiah “awake! Shake yourself from the dust if the earth! Put on your beautiful garments!” And so we do. “Lest we be found naked”. But we are persuaded of better things of you concerning salvation.
Truth better interpretated should be reality. Christ is the reality. “Everything that can be shaken will be shaken for the eternal to remain”. The eternal is the only thing that endures. “For all the world and all its work shall be burned as by fire, what many of persons ought you to be in all manner of godliness”. Meaning the invisible attributes we pit on. “Redeeming the time for the “24 hour” day is evil.
So we learn to understand time as our transitional journey. We rise above the rubble in the spirit to truth. To reality. To Gods reality. To the Son, in the Son. That is how we are “in Christ”. This is how we are in the truth. “He who has the Son has eternal life. And we are in Him it’s true. Little children abstain from idols. They make you idle in the faith. Anything physical you consider eternally important or necessary to God. It is not.
The Kingdom of God is at hand.
