Putting On Christ, One Revelation At A Time.
We have the scripture that says “When we see Him as He is, we shall be Like Him” as pertaining to Jesus Christ. But that “when we See Him as He is to become like Him”? Well for us, first He is word, He is Gods Word. John 1.1 “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was with God. He was in the beginning with God.” Then later, for the expiration of the Old Covenant it says “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” And in Him we beheld the Glory of the Father who is in the Son as are we. That we are “in Christ” in this way.
So, That we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are being transfigured into His (self) same image from the glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of God. This is the fruit of The New Testament.
Did you get that? “From the Glory to the Glory as by the Spirit”? Referring to our invisible part. That while Christ was in His body of the flesh, He exsuded the Glory of God who was in Him as He also said “I and the Father are one” and “those that have seen Me have seen the Father.” So this this could happen to us too because “we are complete in Him who is head over all principalities and powers.” Wow!
So that to put off the body is NOT so much the flesh body as many suppose, but that we put off an old way of thinking that Gods things need to be visible with the carnal senses for us to have and to use, but NO! For even Jesus was in the flesh as a son of man and was “The Son of God” at the same time to show us how we are too! It is possible, but moreso it is expected of us “work out your own salvation.” To “walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.”
And that is the point! Gods Son is the measure and stature and our likeness of what we become in the here and NOW as we put on Christ! This is what it means that “The Kingdom of God is at hand!” These are the fruits of the Spirit and the fruits of our labor.
And because we follow, like and subscribe to Him. Even as He said “Follow Me that where I am you may be also”. And so we do. And not to mean some 2000 plus years later as many suppose.
These are Kingdom Now principles. Didn’t He tell us to go and announce that “The Kingdom of God is at hand??
So then it us becoming a new body of beliefs free from doubts and fears that are antagonistic to The Holy Spirit. That the doubts, fears must be put off as being carnal and the enemies of God who “fills all and all”.
For even Adam qualified as Gods look alike,, until he fell. But because there were no broken bones or bloodshed when he fell, was because it was just a fallen upside down way of thinking. This is how Adam fell in perception only, in the spirit of the mind, and why it is in the spirit that we are raised back up.
If this was not so then Jesus could not have been fully man and fully God at the same time. But because He was, we can be too. So this is why we “reach out to grasp ahold of why He laid hold of us”.
Resurrection Explained
And just as a bird falls upside down on its perch so that its views are inverted. In the same way Adam fell and needed to be raised back up only in understanding to be qualified as being raised from the dead, to mean to be unresponsive to “The Kingdom of God at hand”, so as too relate to The Father as Christ did. That “God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to Himself and has given us this word of reconciliation.
This is being “Renewing in the spirit of the mind” as a way of thinking. To be raised in understanding and renewed in the spirit and by the Holy Spirit in the mind. This is the resurrection of faith!
The carnal body is the neutral party and the innocent bystander at the accident called The Fall, speaking of Adam. And because mankind all comes from him, all have to go through our carnal struggles to be raised back up with the tools supplies by our Heavenly Father and seen clearly in His Son, who became one of us to show us our way back home. This is the Gospel.
So then for us who believe, confess and receive, receive the Holy Spirit that departed from Adam and Eve when they became ground bound and looking down. Those who do so by faith, in the spirit of your mind where it happened. So that just as succinctly and precise as Adam fell, we are raised back up in faith. We instantly become “Sons and Daughters of the resurrection!
3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know (nor recognize) us, because they did not know (nor recognize) Him. 2 Beloved, NOW we are children of God; and it has not yet been (FULLY) revealed what we shall be, but we know that AS He is revealed (more and more), we become (more and more) like Him, for we see Him as He is (Word and Spirit). 3 And everyone who has this hope (desire and thrust) in them purifies themself, just as He is pure. And this purity can only be referencing the Holy Word and Spirit that comes alive in us to restore us to “that which is from the beginning”.
This is us “5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the (invisible) form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and has given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
To mean that we become godly through this process by learning to apply this gift of godliness, and NOT to sit and wait for some second coming dose of another coming Jesus to do something that maybe He forgot or that the cross didn’t cover, or that He left us orphans?
So then the main point we are talking about is the Word of God is the Son of God and the image of God that we put on starts with WORDS. So let us NOT to be found waiting for a supposed second coming Jesus to save as if the Cross was a failure, which is just a rejection of the saving by faith. That faith is our invisible tool and umbilical cord to the Eternal Godhead. To look for another Jesus, as thought the Cross and these tools are insufficient? That is blasphemy because the verbage “second coming” is not found once in scripture..
For you see “He put on the flesh and dwelt among us” so that we in turn “put off the deeds of the flesh” and put on Word to dwell with Him as being in Him, in Christ who is also in the name Father.
So that when the Son of God was on the cross, He became our reliable cross over point and reference point saying “I will never leave you or forsake you.” This is what that means to be reconciled to God as a restoration to what Adam and Eve had before they departed not physically but their way of thinking fell down.
Even as He also said that “lo I am with you always, even throughout the ages”. So that to wait for another coming Jesus, is really just rejecting the reconciliation give given to Humanity at the cross. That the recovery and salvation from Adam and Eves wreckage has been rectified, Jesus became the New and Living Way to The Father to those who are in Christ, who is seated at the right hand of the Father waiting for His enemies to become His footstool as you put your enemies of fear and doubt out of your mind because those are the only enemies left un-defeated and why we are to “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling’. Therefore “Today is the day of Salvation” from the fall in Eden. Tomorrow might not be! And because salvation has to do with the wreckage of the fall, to be “raised back up”. Then when and where do you you ascend to the Father? As Jesus said “I go to the Father and you see Me again no more” at least according to the flesh. To then have Him say to “Follow Me that where I am you may be also. That where I go you know and the way I go you know.” That we walk according to the Spirit.
Here are some entries from scripture that more clearly instruct us on how to put Him on.
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, and the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. 11 In His (circumcision) you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, (and not the flesh itself) by the circumcision of Christ, 12 (So that you being) buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith by the working of God, who raised Christ from the dead.
To mean that we do this one revelation at a time, one after another until it can be said of you too, that “you are complete in Him.”
Keep in mind the parable of the wedding feast and the garments. Of the one who asked “where are your wedding Garments”. To have it said “take this one, bind them and cast them into outer darkness for they knew not the time of their masters coming”. That Jesus comes with the clouds”, to mean your cloudy thinking. Because “when we see Him as He is we will become like Him”, has to do with Him who is called “the word of God”. And however simple or easy that may sound, it still takes a lifetime, so then put ye on the Lord Christ and make no opportunities for the provisions of the flesh. That “flesh and bone does NOT inherit the Kingdom but the re-spirited mind of faith does.
For you see there is coming a time when the wedding feast doors will be closed and for those who did not enter, and were not clothed, to be found outside the Wedding Chamber we call the Spirit saying “Lord Lord open up to us! Did we not preach you in the streets?” And the Master will say “depart from Me you workers of inequity for I do not know you from where you are at”. Then there will be wailing and gnashing of the teeth.
So lets look at some scripture verses that instruct us loud and clear how to put off the old ways of thinking and be renewed in the spirit of our minds.
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of (our Adamic) slumber; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day (of The Kingdom of God) is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of (ignorance also called) darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in “That day you shall surely live), not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
12 For the night is far spent, the day is (still) at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk [a]properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 this is where you put on the new man which was created just like God, in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give [a]place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary [b]edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, [c]clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. 5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. 8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Character of the New Man 12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
And from 2 Peter 1. 1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have [a]obtained like[b] precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the [c]corruption that is in the world through lust. Fruitful Growth in the Faith 5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control [d]perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither [e]barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Peter’s Approaching Death 12 For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. 13 Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this [f]tent, to stir you up by reminding you, 14 knowing that shortly I must [g]put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. 15 Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my [h]decease. The Trustworthy Prophetic Word 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 19 [i]And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private [j]interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but [k]holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Isaih 52 Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean Shall no longer come to you. 2 Shake yourself from the dust, arise; Sit down, O Jerusalem! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion! 3 For thus says the Lord: “You have sold yourselves for nothing, And you shall be redeemed without money.” 4 For thus says the Lord God: “My people went down at first Into Egypt to [a]dwell there; Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. 5 Now therefore, what have I here,” says the Lord, “That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them [b]Make them wail,” says the Lord, “And My name is blasphemed continually every day. 6 Therefore My people shall know My name; Therefore they shall know in that day That I am He who speaks: ‘Behold, it is I.’ ” 7 How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” 8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices, With their voices they shall sing together; For they shall see eye to eye When the Lord brings back Zion. 9 Break forth into joy, sing together, You waste places of Jerusalem! For the Lord has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem. 10 The Lord has [c]made bare His holy arm In the eyes of all the nations; And all the ends of the earth shall see The salvation of our God. 11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there, Touch no unclean thing; Go out from the midst of her, Be clean, You who bear the vessels of the Lord. 12 For you shall not go out with haste, Nor go by flight; For the Lord will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
So then for those who are waiting for a second coming Jesus, quite likely think that is when their change comes but we just showed you it is not . The One who said that “I will never leave you or forsake you”. Is always within reach in spirit and truth. So that the one who never leaves us or forsakes us? Is just a whisper away.
In this way and this way alone, “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Amen!
